Until now very less research that revealed patterns of adaptation that could be developed by a single fish is clear that to date the animal population is very small and is one of the highly protected fish. Fish populations are usually found in areas distant from the activities of the bombing because of some experience of the divers, said that Napoleon would be very rare fish found in areas with reefs that have been damaged by bombing and or areas with many using potassium cyanide. This illustrates that the existence of this fish is highly dependent on the ecosystem intact.
Costly trade in this fish is one cause of fish population is very much reduced nature. The color is soft white flesh with a flavor that is delicious, making it increasingly hunted fish. Some countries are recorded as an importer of these fish are Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Japan. Also been recorded several orders originating from Canada, America and some European country of residence. Although not officially done, until now still found some cases of smuggling of these animals out of Indonesia.
This fish is one fish that is very protected and prohibited from trading today. By the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), was designated as one of Napoleon fish protected fish in the world because these fish populations have been rare and endangered nature. At CITES COP 13 in Bangkok, Thailand on 2 - October 14, 2004 CITES member countries have agreed to include this species into Appendix II of CITES and its utilization should be further in accordance with the provisions of CITES, because Indonesia is one country that has ratified CITES according to Presidential Decree No. 43 Year 1978 concerning Ratification of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) of Wild Fauna and Flora. Where the settings in Indonesia conducted by the Ministry of Forestry cq DG PHKA as the CITES management authority. In relation to the above, then the use of Fish Napoleon Wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus) are not protected by law and included in Appendix II of CITES in its administration set according to the Decree of the Minister of Forestry Number: 447/Kpts-II/2003 of Administrative Decision or Arrest and distributing plants and wildlife, which is the implementing regulations of Law No. 5 of 1990 on Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystem, and Government Regulation No. 8 of 1999 concerning the utilization of Wild Type Plants and Animals

Especially for Indonesia in several waters, we can find these fish live around the area of Irian sekiatar (four kings and surrounding areas), the waters of southeast Sulawesi (Buton regency, Wakatobi and surrounding waters), Periaran North Sulawesi (Bunaken and around it), the waters of Nusa Tenggara (Sikka and surrounding areas), the waters of the south Sulawesi (Takabonerate and surrounding areas), Maluku waters.
However, due to rampant illegal shipment of fish to Singapore, making this fish has begun a rare and very difficult to find. Although proclaimed as one of the animals are protected in Indonesia, does not shrink the intention of some of the search and fish traders to sell these fish. Even with protected fish made it increasingly expensive and increasingly challenging them to catch and sell it.
It is unfortunate if the existence of these fish will disappear from parairan Indonesia. As one of the animals that have the form of a beautiful, graceful, supple and friendly dialam, makes this fish very close to divers. The existence of this fish in some areas make the diving itself an unforgettable experience for divers. Even in some countries there that offer package just to watch the swimming with the presence of some types of fish this nature.
This is an extremely valuable natural investment for the long term. Most of the people we do not understand the existence of this animal in some places even ironically, this fish hunted for food eaten into their daily lives.
The lack of awareness of the several animal species that make them less dialam seemed not to care about these animals.
It would be highly desirable for the role of all parties to jointly maintain the presence of animals and fish are protected.
We are expecting the government to be more assertive role in monitoring and prohibit trade in these animals, participation of all parties to maintain the existence of this fish nature

It would be wonderful for us if when I travel-stricken coastal region near the reef watching fish swim with these graceful and beautiful, or any time you have the opportunity for snorkeling or diving in the area around the reef to find these fish swim freely with you because of the friendly nature of this fish .
By not chasing dialam and let it stay alive and breed dialam we have a very large role in keeping these fish. We will not berharapa if the fish is just tacked on the wall as a picture or poster that with the note "This fish Once there was diperaiarn Indonesia".

It would be very likely to make efforts restoking for some animals and fish such as Napoleon nature. Surely the opportunity to create a breeding ground for these fish in a certain area where even is one way out that may be made.
