Google Alert

Google Alerts is an e-mail notification service (email), which will send notification of web pages and the latest news of their choice. Notification is sent via email or web feed (web feed). Currently there are six types of services namely Alerts: News, Web, Blog, Comprehensive, Video and Groups. News Alerts are email notifications to users if there is a new article into the top 10 Google News search results that they do. Meanwhile, Web Alerts notify users if there is a new web page appears in the top 20 Google Web search results that they do.
  
The use of Google Alerts
Most people generally use the Google Alerts service to :

     Finding out what was said about the company or their products.
     Monitor the latest news developments.
     Continue to monitor the latest developments of competitors or industry.
     Get the latest news about celebrities or sports teams.
     Finding out what is being said about themselves.
